Top-rated bookie for VIP punters
An increasingly rare sight these days, EliteBet is an independent bookmaker based at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in Sydney. Owned by Australian businessman Daniel Paolini, the company was formed in 2012.
Our EliteBet review takes a closer look at the website and mobile app, revealing the payment methods, support channels and markets on offer. We’ll also see how the odds compare to other leading bookies, and explain how to create an account.

Founded in 2012, Elitebet is the trading name of bookmaker Daniel Paolini, an Australian businessman. The company, which is licensed by Racing NSW and the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing, has its offices at Rosehill Gardens, Sydney.
Elitebet prides itself on old-fashioned customer service, in a world of faceless corporations. Still, it has a modern website and app, plus there’s also a telephone betting service.
Absolutely. EliteBet is an independent operation that’s regulated by Racing NSW. But it’s also part of the NSW Bookmakers Co-operative, which guarantees payment for all winning bets placed with its member bookmakers.
It’s not as big as some online bookmakers, but EliteBet features all of the most important sports and competitions. We counted 17 live on the site when compiling this review, but the rules page list around 25 different sports.
Among these are esports – though it’s only really League of Legends for now – plus a complete horse and greyhound product. This is probably EliteBet’s specialist area – you’ll find plenty of exotic bet types, with races from all over the world.
Although the racing coverage is thorough, we can’t honestly say the same about other sports. The EliteBet philosophy seems to be “do a small number of things well”, rather than plaster dozens of barely-used markets all over the website.
And they achieve it, too – just look at how competitive the odds are. AFL games featured a relatively low 5% margin, which is the same as Sportsbet, Bet Right and TAB, but better than Unibet and Neds.
There are equally low margins of around 5.5% for NRL rugby matches – only Neds and Ladbrokes can beat these odds. International T20 cricket matches are similarly priced, with Pointsbet the only site we know consistently offering better odds – but not by much.
It’s fair to say Elitebet isn’t the most feature-rich platform. As we mentioned, it takes an old-school approach, one that focuses on getting the basics right and building a loyal punter base.
As such, you’re not going to find partial cashout or live sports streams here. You can, at least, bet in-play over the telephone, while same game multis and same race multis are now an option.
Another interesting feature is the HOT Bets page, which provides tips from well-known media figures and prominent punters with a track record of winning. Results are independently verified by TheGreatTipOff, Australia’s tipster validation service.
Elitebet possesses possibly the smallest selection of deposit and withdrawal methods we’ve seen from an Aussie bookmaker. Your choices are limited to Visa, Mastercards, PayID and bank transfers.
| Payment Method | Deposit | Withdrawal |
| Debit Card | ✅ | ✅ |
| PayID | ✅ | ✅ |
| Bank Transfer | ✅ | ✅ |
There are no processing charges, we’re happy to report, though your financial institution may add fees. The minimum deposit is just $5, with online bets starting from just $1.
It’s $10 to withdraw and payout times are standard, with requests processed two to three times per day. If your bank account is capable of receiving rapid transfers, you’ll almost certainly receive your money within 24 hours. Otherwise, it’s one to three business days for card payments.
We were pleased to see EliteBet has a mobile sports betting app for both Android and iOS users.
Our expectations weren’t high, given the small, independent nature of the business. We doubt they have the same kind of tech budget as giants like Unibet or Ladbrokes, for instance. But both apps are rated very highly by regular users.
The iOS application scores a respectable 4.3* out of 5 from around 500 App Store reviews. But the Android version is even better, rated an impressive 4.6*on Google Play.
It looks the part, but it’s also a smooth, lightweight and functional piece of software. All website features are present, and we’re yet to encounter any bugs.
Like all Australian betting sites, there’s no welcome bonus – this type of promotion is banned. Still, EliteBet does have a referral code (BSA500) which you can enter if you like.
It won’t get you a signup bonus, but if you log into your account, you’ll see a number of options in the “Loyalty Locker”.
In addition to Loyalty Locker promotions, new accounts are automatically enrolled into the Elitebet Loyalty Rewards program. Here, you’ll accrue points every time you place a bet at odds of 1.20 or greater.
The final thing to mention is customer support. Now, there aren’t many channels here – EliteBet has intentionally chosen not to run a live chat service, for example.
This won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but the company’s whole ethos is about the personal touch, and old-fashioned customer service. They obviously feel that’s better achieved with proper human-to-human contact over the telephone.
The precise support times aren’t listed on the website, but we assume they run in parallel with the telephone betting service. Those hours are:
| Days | Times |
| Sunday to Tuesday | 8am to 10pm |
| Wednesday and Thursday | 8am to 11pm |
| Friday and Saturday | 8am to 12am |
You can also send an email to admin@elitebet.com.au, but don’t expect a reply outside of telephone support hours.
Before wrapping up this EliteBet site review, here’s how to open a new account:
If the Elitebet site can automatically verify your identity, the account will open straight away. Otherwise, a popup will appear requesting ID – follow the instructions and provide a driver’s license, passport or other documentation to continue.
This 100% Australian-owned bookmaker does things a little different. As a small, independent operation, it’s managed to retain a certain old-school charm. Don’t expect live chat – or even live betting – from this platform, as it prefers to talk over the phone.
You can place standard bets online, though, at any time of day. And although other bookies boast more markets, the odds at EliteBet are consistently top end on most sports.
Although you won’t find an EliteBet signup bonus, look out for regular promotions for existing customers and a rewarding loyalty program.
